The PhD program in Pharmacy of the University of Granada is an Spanish Official Program by virtue of the Resolución of 24 October 2013, of the Secretaría General de Universidades, that publishes the agreement of the Council of Ministers of 20 September 2013, and is registered in the Registro de Universidades, Centros y Títulos with the number 5600246 (BOE nº 274,15 November 2013).

The program is a joint initiative of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Granada and other institutions in order to prepare high-level experts in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.

Researchers who support this program come from various areas of knowledge of the University of Granada , the Higher Council for Scientific Research (López Neyra Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine), the Andalusian Institute of Earth Sciences, the University Hospital Virgen de las Nieves, the Center for Research and Development of Functional Food (a consortium of the University of Granada, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Junta de Andalucía, Abbott Laboratories, Maeva oils, SA, BIOTMICROGEN , SL (Group Biot ), Beer Alhambra, SA (Grupo Mahou San Miguel) and Miguel García Sánchez and Sons S. A). and the Centre of Research Excellence for Innovative Medicines in Andalucia (MEDINA Foundation), a consortium between MSD, the Junta de Andalucía and the University of Granada .

In the past five years lead or participate in more than 100 research projects, have directed or co-directed more than 70 thesis that have given rise to more than 300 articles in scientific journals included in the JCR .

The program is part of a doctoral network with the Faculties of Pharmacy, Seville, Lisbon , Coimbra , Catania , Perugia, Urbino and Parma.
