Presentation

Welcome to the official website of the Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences at the University of Granada. Code B22/56/1

The field of Educational Sciences is a varied sector, subject to rapid expansion, diversification, and professionalization. In this vein, curricular innovation, initial teacher training, continuous professional development, and trainer training are collectively defined as strategic objectives for improving the quality and effectiveness of educational and training systems in the European Union. Researching these topics is an emerging field with high projection in both traditional and emerging sectors, where innovation and research are crucial.

The proposal for such a program in the field of Educational Sciences is well-supported in the international landscape. There is a long history and numerous references, both national and international, in the development of graduate programs related to research in Educational Sciences (curricular development and innovation and teacher training). This speaks to its importance, implementation, and necessity.

The accumulated experience, the volume of demand, the results for the training of researchers, and the multiple assessments accumulated from different sectors also converge in this valuation.

The program, verified by the Andalusian Knowledge Agency, aims for excellence and has a strong component of internationalization. It arises from the coherent integration of several research lines and groups with established trajectories, integrated into national and international research networks. It brings together the best histories, trajectories, and achievements of postgraduate programs in the area at the University of Granada (many of which were verified or received “quality mention”).

The program is structured around “powerful and vibrant” research and innovation lines on curricular development and training, based on Teams, Groups, and Research Projects subsidized with public funds in European calls for R&D&I and in other specific actions of special impact. These lines, in turn, to promote and increase their potential and synergy, are incorporated into other research infrastructures: Research Groups and Networks,

It offers significant internationalization measures and opportunities: mobility of faculty and students, collaboration agreements, integration of visiting faculty of recognized prestige, and frequent and productive interaction within research networks.

It aims to have a final impact on society, contributing to achieving quality education for all, fair, inclusive, and socially committed, combining academic excellence and promoting quality research, with ethical and social commitment, guided towards particularly relevant and timely fields to understand and transform the world of Education.

It is designed to prepare researchers to face the current challenges of complex and constantly evolving societies, working together, in global contexts, and serving the social, technological, and democratic improvement of complex societies and better learning for culturally and socially diverse and individually diverse students. This also gives it a clear relevance to be framed in the process of transforming university education and European convergence.

It offers both the pertinent deepening by research line in which the works are registered and an interdisciplinary and integrating component, characteristic of the area.
